About Us

Terra organization is a non–governmental, non-profit, and non-partisan organization that works independently and extensively in Lebanon. Terra works closely with governments, foundations, NGOs, development institutions, and research organizations to build the resilience of low- and middle-income communities to natural and man-made disasters by creating better standards of living for all segments of society, focusing on women, children, adolescents, persons with special needs, and marginalized communities.

TERRA was founded by a group of humanitarian professionals and is officially registered in Lebanon in August 2022 under license number 873.

The organization is headquartered in Tripoli, the 2nd city of Lebanon, with an operational office that undertakes all management and administrative issues of the organizational programs. TERRA has a board of directors consisting of FIVE (5) members.

Since its inception, TERRA has partnered with TAMKEEN, a non-profit civil company established in Lebanon in 2020, with the aim of improving the lives of Syrian refugee children, their families, and their host communities by creating a healthy social and educational environment.

TAMKEEN has been working in the field of education in Lebanon for over eight years. Popular, innovative, and forward-thinking, TAMKEEN is a pioneer in providing quality education, capacity building, and quality school infrastructure that helps improve the learning environment for students.

The two organizations have decided to combine in order to operate as a single legal entity under the name TERRA for Building Resilience from September 2022.
